Below are some examples of the design work I've completed; I believe that through design, important policy issues can be conveyed.
In our telling stories with data class we explored how to make simple charts with Codepen and Highcharts. This chart describes how long I have to wait for the bus every morning and evening during the week.
For our capstone project, our group collaborated with a municipality just outside of Pittsburgh. We used narrative inquiry to develop a relationship and truly understand the nuances of their code enforcement program. After many discussions and ride-alongs with the code enforcement officers, our group helped the COG (council of governements) create an open-source, postgreSQL database as well as an automated monthly report system in R. In the poster, we discuss how these two systems added value to their code enforcement program
